Castles in the Sky
03:22
|

Dusk turns to dawn
In the wake of years to come
We spend our breaths
Without knowing where we're from.
We are kings
Building castles in the air
With the hope that countless passers-by will stop mid-stride and stare.
We are princes
Next in line to take the throne
Waiting for our turn, for our chance to hold our own.
But we are fools
With our heads among the clouds
As the ages pass we place our bricks upon unsturdy ground
And we are thieves
To steal a glimpse of the unknown
We act as though our lives are written down in stone
Just as days pass by
And time is slowly spent.
Just like castles in the sky,
Our lives are transient.

Stargazer

We look into the nighttime sky
To learn the secrets stars belie
We watch until they fall.
To find the answers that we seek
We sit and wait for them to speak.
We do not feel them call...
With our eyes pinned on the heavens
We still make wishes on the stars
Stargazers that we are...

Neti... neti...

Woven on the sun and moon
With roving from the stars
How can words alone convey the thoughts
Carved from this very heart

Cometlight

In worlds of grey we search for black and white
Or so we say...
Our souls wont mend until we find the light.
Until the end...
Turn around, turn around,
don't get caught up in the flow
Let yourself come unwound
Please just learn to let it go
Don't look back, don't look back
It's just bad for you, you know
Can you hear, hear the sound -
That you thought had come from home?
New places must be found
When there's nowhere else to go
Don't look back, don't look back,
Please just learn to let it go
Can you hear it?
Hear it in the rhythm of your pulse
It beats faster
Throbbing at the mem'ry that was lost
in thoughts of past or present tenses.
Making sense is just the start...
Smiles like windows weather wand'ring hearts of lovers
turning over in the night just like the rolling of the waves
at highest tide on the beaches under starlight, under cover
of the darkness which will one day seep into their father's graves.
Turning up their nose at rumors that their lives were only specks of light
in ever-fading ebbs and flows of luminance from heavens
drifting out of touch with blues and greens of being
waiting patiently below, so small, so soon to be forgotten,
Screaming "Don't forget my name."
